Queen's 90th Birthday Tea Party

A Right-Royal Village Turn-out

An impressive number of villagers attended the Village Hall for the Tea Party which was sponsored by the Parish Council. It was refreshing to see lots of ‘new’ faces, in spite of the wet weather! The atmosphere, though, was warm and festive, with plenty of balloons, flags and bunting to set the scene. The food was superb — the usual tea-party fare:- home made cakes and sandwiches, followed by jelly and ice cream. We were hoping for a surprise visit from ‘Her-Maj’, but she must have had a better offer!
Special thanks must go to Dee Stewardson, who co-ordinated the event with loads of help from Ann and John Peers, Maureen Pollock, Viv Storey, and Pam Web. Other villagers helped with home-made cakes.
