On Saturday July 14th 2012, a memorial service was held at the USAAF 388th Bomb Group memorial at the crossroads at Coney Weston. This was to dedicate the two new wings, recently inscribed with the names of those who gave their lives, of this landmark memorial which was first dedicated in 1986. This event was part of a larger Norfolk festival to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the arrival in UK of the 388th group and was attended by families of the veterans, USAF personnel as well as many local people.
