Photos of the Tithe Barn excavated in the summer of 2015. Aerial photos were kindly provided by James Ladell.
The tithe barn belonged to the abbey at Bury St Edmunds and all the local farmers would come here to pay their tithes which were stored in the barn. It is believed that it was burned down during the Peasants' Revolt in 1381.
Another barn was also excavated both in 2014 and 2016. This was adjacent to the tithe barn but not so well preserved.
